Birth Place:                          Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Family:                                Second of five children

Childhood Years:                  From age 6 to 12(?), spent in Winneba, Ghana, while his parents both taught the                                             local teachers and the townspeople. Summers were spent vacationing all over
                                          Europe.

High School Years:               After returning to Canada, the family settled in Lennoxville, Quebec. Tom went to 
                                          high school in Montreal.

University Years:                  Enrolled at Queen's University in Ontario, where he played Varsity hockey and
                                          basketball. Graduated in 1987 with honors degrees in English, Biology and
                                          Education while pursuing his interest in music and theater.

Theater Interests:                  Peaked after being cast as Danny Zuko in a Canadian production of Grease.
                                          Soon after, played Eugene in Brighton Beach Memoirs. First big break came in
                                          the Broadway revival of the hit musical Shenandoah, where he starred with John
                                          Cullum (Holling Vincoeur of Northern Exposure fame.) Other credits include A
                                          Chorus Line and Cabaret.
                                                                                                                      
Moving On:                           After a year in New York, he went to Toronto and then Vancouver, quickly
                                          becoming one of Canada's most busy & popular actors, with regular roles in the
                                          Canadian TV series Jake & The Kid and No Place Like Home, as well as
                                          commercial appearances for Labatt's Beer, Oh Henry, Midlyn Wallwyn & Speedy
                                          Muffler. He also supplemented his income working as a school teacher.

More Recently:                     Moved to Los Angeles in 1999, landing a few TV & movie roles, most importantly,
                                          that of Ed Stevens in the CBS pilot called Stuckeyville, later picked up by NBC
                                          and changed to Ed. Also well-known as Doug/Dog Boy in the series Providence.

                                          Married, he lives in both Los Angeles and New York, enjoying all manner of
                                          sports, especially basketball, and playing the guitar. Ironically, Tom has a brother
                                          who is a lawyer in Canada.

Talk Show Talk:                    Tom has appeared on a number of talk shows, including The Tonight Show With
                                          Jay Leno, The Tony Danza Show, The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson,
                                          Canada AM, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Rosie
                                          O'Donnell Show, The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, The Caroline Rhea Show,
                                          and Last Call With Carson Daly, and has made more than one appearance on
                                          The Late Show With David Letterman, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, Live With
                                          Regis & Kelly, Today, The Craig Kilborn Show, and The View.
                                    
Awards:                               Tom won the TV Guide Award for 'Best Actor In A New Series', preferring to share
                                          this and other honors with the Ed cast & crew. (February 2001)
                                          He has also won the Canadian of the Month Award for April, 2001. Click here for
                                          more info. Tom won the 3rd Annual Family Television Award for 'Best Actor',
                                          announced on August 5, 2001. He has also been nominated a number of times
